Many of the members of this Community are true fans of the Science Fiction (SciFi) genre. Some of us hail back to the original Star Trek series and others even before that. It was a real treat to step into the Alternate Universe that is the SciFi Channel, where you can see what's going on in the world of Science Fiction, and beyond.
Climb on board my Spaceship, our journey is about to begin. We're scheduled to land on Alpha Prime, and since we're going through a Stargate, we'll arrive in less than 200 parsecs.{color:#800080}SCI FI WIRE{color} is The News Service of the SciFi Channel. This an amazing, fun to browse Website. There is so much information to look at that I kind of went into SOO (State of overwhelm,) because I wanted to see everything! Here you'll find the latest information about your favorite Science Fiction novel, TV show, Anime, Horror Film, etc., etc. You name it, they have it.
When you first land on this Website, you'll see this banner which shows you the many different pages you can journey through.
Click on SCIFIPedia where ".... anyone can add to! You can search for terms, check out the categories or just start exploring. If you think something is missing, you can feel free to add it!" There are all kinds of different information on Anime, Art, Comics, Games, Paranormal, Science, etc. I had a lot of fun looking through their Anime section, although it was not as big as I expected.
It is in this page where you can enter your search terms and also Create an Account/Login (Free) to gain entry into this other-dimensional-portal.
Over to the left you find a list of pages you can look through, labeled: TELEVISION, SCI FI Channel, FILM, FANDOM, PRINT, GAMES & TOYS, RUMORS, TRAILERS, NEWS BRIEFS & LINKS. Below that is the SCIFI WIRE Video. Also Photo Gallery, Reviews and Interviews.
If you click on TELEVISION, it will give you the latest news on what's going on in TV world. There are also buttons that let you watch previews of the latest series, just press Play Video.
Click on TRAILERS to watch Trailers of upcoming movies. One of them is IRON MAN, which debuted during the Super Bowl. You can also watch Trailers of STAR TREK, Speed Racer, Jumper, etc, etc. The list is too long to cover here.
Of course, being a huge (make that humongous,) fan of STAR TREK, I just HAD to view the Trailer for the new movie, scheduled to be released at the end of this year. When you click on the STAR TREK button, it takes you to their official site. The Trailer for this movie IS AWESOME! I'm sure you'll recognize the Narrator's voice....

Today (2-14-08,) while searching through SCI FI WIRE, I found out that the release of the new STAR TREK movie has been changed to May, 2009. Darn it, now I have to hold off on my enthusiasm to see this movie for a whole year!
