As you may have noticed, the PC World forums were out for most of the afternoon and evening. We had a small hack to our forums, and we needed to take them down in order to fix it. Our technical team has been working on this all afternoon, and everything is all fixed and patched up.

As a result of the fix, you will be forced to log out of the site and log back in. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but it is necessary to ensure the safety of the forums.

Thank you for your patience.

Upload Your Own Avatar

Posted by KellieCM Sep 6, 2007

Hi everyone! We've fixed the bug that made avatar uploading break. You can now upload your own avatar to the forum!

Please remember that all avatars must follow our community standards.

You may upload 4 avatars, but obviously can only use one at a time. Avatars are limited to 250 x 250, and will be resized to fit this interface. The avatars displayed here are fairly small, so keep that in mind as you select your avatar.

We also have a lot more pre-loaded avatars for you to choose from.

To change or upload your avatar, go to the "Your Stuff" menu and select "Profile". In the Actions menu on the right, you will see a selection to change your avatar. On this page, you will be able to select one of the pre-loaded avatars, and below that, you will have a space to upload your own.

Thanks for your patience as we work out the bugs in the new system and make it a great place for everyone.
