With Thanks to and Collaboration from Smax013
Back in February, I started thinking about Dual Booting my current computer, which is what brought me to PCWorld in the first place. I found a great site that basically walks you through the installation process with easy instructions and illustrations. Recently, I have noticed that many forum member are asking about dual booting or even multiple booting with three Operating Systems. I noticed that Smax013 was referring individuals to the same site that I pulled all of my information. So, it seemed fitting to create a basic Document pointing our members to the tutorial of their choice when it comes to creating a dual or multiple boot system.
- Dual Boot:
Vista & XP - XP Installed First
Vista & XP - Vista Installed First
XP & Ubuntu - XP Installed First
XP & Ubuntu - Ubuntu Installed First
Vista & Ubuntu - Vista Installed First
Vista & Ubuntu - Ubuntu Installed First
- Triple Boot:
For those of you that are feeling adventurous and feel you would like to create a Tri-Boot system, Vista, XP, and Ubuntu, follow the instructions within this
link. The instructions within this site assume Windows XP is installed first. This site has its own dual booting procedure but basically when you are creating the partition for Vista, create the partition for Ubuntu as well.
This is ultimately how I am going to create my system so I will update this Document if I find a more definitive procedural guide.
Thanks mph, your first link is the exact one I used a couple weeks ago, it worked perfectly. As always, you provide excellent information, and helps .
