Hi Everyone. There have been several instances within this Community where someone has an unwanted file or application opening during startup. There is a very easy way to disable any unwanted file or application form opening with your computer's start up process. To disable any process, you will need to access the System Configuration Utility application by following these steps:
- Type msconfig and click OK
- Scroll down the list of Startup Items until you see one that is associated with the offending file or application. If you have difficulties, expand the Command column and see if you can determine which Startup Item may be causing this issue.
- Once you determine which Startup Item is affecting your computer, select it and remove the check mark from the box next to the item and then click Apply and OK
- The computer will restart and once it restarts, confirm that the file or application no longer opens during startup
