Way To Change Location Of Scroll Arrows?

Occasionally I have to use a Mac, and while I prefer Windows, there are some features I like on OS X, including the placement of the scroll arrows. Is there a way to make the Windows scroll arrows together at the bottom of the scroll bar like on the Mac? Thanks.

32 Bit Vs 64 Bit

I'm running 32 bit home preminum vista with 4GB ram at 2.33 GHz. I read somewhere I could install 64 bit windows 7 if I have a Core2 Duo processor. Is this true? Has someone done this?

If can be done I have another question. My slave hard drive has no data or programs on it and is only used for backup. If I were to backup my master drive to this slave drive and run a custom (clean) install would my backup still be there? Instructions so far say to backup to an external drive which I don't have.

Windows Update

[size="4"] I should like to inform everyone who OWNS an Windows OS, be it XP or VISTA, that it is utterly pointless to disable Windows Automatic Updates. I had disabled it, I had the source update site (Microsoft) blocked via my firewall, and STILL the OS updated without my knowledge. This should worry EVERYONE here about what Microsoft is doing to your computer without your knowledge, what data they are viewing in your computer. Do you have any idea what it takes to get updates through a firewall that has them completely blocked? The answer is simple. The firewall ignores its instructions to block Microsoft, and allows them full access to your computer. Don't believe me? Try it. Try to block any OS updates from Microsoft, and get back to me. The ONLY WAY to prevent your computer from updating IS TO REMAIN OFF THE 'NET. Now THAT is power in the hands of Microsoft, power that should be removed, and the company shut down. It is FACT if any other company had tried this stuff, they would be shut down. The solution is obvious. Microsoft works with these firewall companies, and threatens them with 'you will be allowed to use your firewall AS LONG AS IT CANNOT BLOCK US FROM ACCESSING THE COMPUTERS OF OUR -------... ER I MEAN OUR CUSTOMERS!

I want you all to learn to accept one fact of life, Microsoft owns YOU, they own your DATA, and they own your COMPUTER. There is no getting around it. The solution to this ownage by Microsoft? DUMP THEM. Go to MAC, or LINUX. I checked. Neither OS pulls the stuff Microsoft does.

Cant Make A Partition In Windows 7.

Hi..
I recently upgraded (custom install) to windows 7.
While doing. I've formatted and deleted two 20GB drives. And tried to create a 40GB drive.
I couldnt create a 40GB drive.. So.. created a 20GB drive and installed w7 in it.
When I tried to create a new partition of that 20GB I'm getting an error - "Not enough space" "could not partition drive"

After installing w7. I tried to create a new volume in disk manager. But could not do so... Its showing 20GB unused space.
But when I tried to create a new volume, it says "not enough space to perform the operation."

Any help?
Any 3rd party partitioning software??
I need that space...

Thank you!.

Flash Drives On Windows 7 Problem

Hey guys,

I have been recently having trouble with my flash drives on my Windows 7 desktop. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, and I used to run Vista 32-bit. I've had no problems with Windows 7, and even these problems were not present when I first upgraded. I have two flash drives, a 4 gb Cruzer and a 8 gb PNY. Both flash drives worked with my computer when running Windows 7, but I've been having some trouble the past week or so. In addition, the two flash drives still work with my roommate's laptop, but not mine.

Essentially, when I stick a flash drive into my computer, the computer does not read it. The lights on the flash drive do not turn on when I insert them (when they usually do turn on), and I cannot find the drives in My Computer. I tried multiple USB drives on my PC, but they all seem to have the same effect. When I went to Devices and Printers, I saw a "mass storage device" listed, but it had a yellow warning icon on it. When I tried to right click it (or left click it, for that matter), it would begin to not respond. This essentially cascaded into explorer not responding and having to shut down my computer manually (since shutting it down from ctrl+alt+delete caused it to freeze on the shut down screen). When I booted up, I tried booting normally to no avail, and then I rebooted in safe mode. Safe mode worked fine, and I had to system restore my computer to get it to start up normally again.

Today, I was trying to transfer something again, and the same thing happened. If the drives work on other computers, it surely must be my computer at fault, right? The drives USED to work on the same computer with the same operating system and the same programs installed, so I really have no idea what to do.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Reinstalling Windows Xp With No Cd On A Used Laptop

I've been feeling that need we all get after running Windows for a while that your system has a lot of glut and you need a reinstall, so I've been wondering how to reinstall Windows XP (Professional, SP3) when you don't have a CD.

I've searched Google for this many times and I've found that usually the manufacturer provides a reinstall partition if you're not provided the Windows XP CD or an equivalent; however, I purchased my laptop used and I have no such partition.

I do have a Windows XP installation CD of which I've used the Recovery Console from once, but can I actually install Windows by using a different CD than the original? Can I create a reinstall CD from within Windows (I'm pretty sure you can't, I don't have the setup files)? Or must I buy a completely buy a new LEGAL install CD?
