Connection Issues?

I'm having an issue with my internet on my desktop pc where I can get online fine and everything usually works fine for a few minutes and then when I start opening new pages or tabs the pages will never load. And it's not like when you go to a page and get the "this page cannot be found" page, it's just a blank tab that never loads. Or occasionally it will load but even after everything has loaded completely the little spinning circle on the tab that says it is loading won't stop and I'll still see Transferring data from... at the bottom in the status bar. Usually I can stop and reload the page and it'll come up after a few tries, but it's very annoying to have to do that every time I want to open a new tab. I'm having this issue with both Firefox (3.5.5) and Google Chrome. I've attempted disabling all my add-ons. I've uninstalled both browsers and tried fresh installs with them both. I've run virus and spybot scans. Nothing seems to help. What baffles me is that I have a laptop running on the same connection via a wireless connection using the exact same version of Firefox and Chrome with the same add-ons with absolutely no problems.

Internet Providers

Hello all!

I am curious, anyone know a way to see if your internet connection or your computer is being monitor by your internet providers? Is there a way to see if the internet provider or even hackers spying on your computer?

And if you find out your internet provider is trying to get into your computer, what would you do about your internet provider?

Also, can they get into your computer using WIRELESS connection?

Well, we all know they can monitor while you are surfing the web but can they get into your Hard Drive and get information from you such as credit info and banking info? There are a lot of articles on the web about internet providers are monitoring every website you visit and there's a lot of legal issues about what they are doing.

Is there a way to block them and can you even send them a nasty virus back? HA HA HA

Below are some links I found about Internet Providers monitoring your every move:

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news0...onitoring.html

http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/tag/isp-data-monitoring/

I am talking more of a Home environment rather than a Work environment. When you are at work, for sure they will monitor your every move. But what about when you are at your own home?

There's a lot more info on this but you get the message. ;-)

Our internet providers are watching all of us as we speak right now. ;-)

Hotmail Launching Live Messenger

Hi!

Don't know if this has already been asked (a quick search came up with nothing!)

I have installed Win 7 on my PC, and it has obviously come with the latest versions of software. What I find very annoying is that when I log in to hotmail in IE, Live Messenger starts up (although not logged in). I don't want this to happen, so is there some way of disabling this? I have already disabled auto-start of Messenger via msconfig; this is another problem.

Any thoughts / solutions appreciated!

Thanks,

Websites Not Loading In Firefox

I've noticed that websites like Facebook are not loading properly, if at all, when I use Firefox (Safari hasn't been working right either). Usually, the site starts loading, but then stops and I get "page cannot be found" or the status bar goes through, but nothing actually seems to load. I'm not sure what could be preventing it from loading, and it's not on every website. Everything seems to load fine in Safe Mode though. I have no idea if the connection is just timing out or what's going on. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Outlook 2007 Causing Problems?

Ok, so I get this pop up on Outlook 2007 that says:

Enter Network Password

So I enter the password for my email address and it pops up again so I do this over and over for about 3 or 4 times and then it finally checks my email. Then it randomly appears out of nowhere every so often and when I enter my password it and hit enter it does this 3 or 4 more times then quits for a while. I googled the problem and everything I found said to delete my account and then create it again. So I did this and it worked for about an hour or so then it randomly appeared again and I've had the problem ever since. I'm not sure what else to do. Can anyone help me?

Flash Video Is Very Choppy

Within the last month or so, I have notice that watching flash video is consistently choppy. The audio is fine, just the video is painfully choppy. I validated that I have the latest version installed. The video is choppy on IE8, FF3.5 and Chrome. I would like some help troubleshooting this.

A few other details: I am running Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba laptop that is 10 months old. My son has a Compaq laptop also 10 months old and we both share a Qwest 5MBps connection. He has no problem.

I know that it may be that my internet configuration is not set optimally, but I don't know how to research that, though I will say I am pretty advanced technically. I know it may also be another program running that is consuming system resources.

Any help would be appreciated.

Facebook/internet Problems

facebook has not been working for me lately. Every other website works perfectly but 50 percent of the time facebook wont even load(server timout of server cannot be found). Sometimes it will work perfectly but most of the time, espeially when playing farmville and fish aquarium it just cant do it. Changing browsers does not make a difference. Sometimes it is just unbearably slow or the games will be all messed up. I dont think it is my computer because both malwarebytes and superantispyware turn up ok and i sit at idle cpu usage while this freezing is occuring. My girlfreind says at her house on her laptops facebook always works fine. both me and her are on a 5 mbps connection via cable. I have been having problems with my cable connection dropping out but its been alot better. Its really starting to get annoying, as said before, all other websites load instantly
