I've been pricing parts for my new PC build lately and came across TasTech computers...They have really decent prices, most parts are cheaper than what we get from our suppliers at work. Seems to good to be true. So thought I'd ask my boss about them since I've never heard of them but he hadn't heard of them either. Neither has anyone else I know for that matter. Anyway, thought I'd post something on here and see if anyone could help me out and give me some info on these guys
Thanks!

Hi Milly and welcome to the forums. I did a search on TasTech. It appears to be a New Zealand Company. I Price checked an ati Sapphire Flex Video card as I had recently bought one. There price was $233.64 USD. I bought the same card from NewEgg for $174.99. I do not know where you are, but if you are in Australia or New Zealand, it may well be cheap, but not compared to prices here in the States. coastie

Thanks coastie, yea sorry I am in New Zealand I probably should have stated that
I checked out that card on TasTech and it's $310... NewEgg seems quite cheap, but dont think they ship to NZ do they? Was just wanting to know if anyone has dealt with TasTech and if they're any good?

Hi Milly, Yeah I did the conversion to USD from $310 ( that was with that GAT included ). Yopu did a good follow up as I forgot to mention it was the HD5770. Unfortunately NewEgg doesn't ship out of the country. There was so much carping from the Canadians about that, that they opened up a Canadian branch, so now those folks up there are happy. We do have some members from Australia and New Zealand, so maybe they might check in and see this. It seems as though they do business in both places. Nobody here in the States would be familiar with them though. From what I saw, it seems to be a pretty reputable business and the reviews were good. If you like what you read in the reviews, then it is probably fine, but seems a bit pricey compared to what we pay here. I know in the UK, when I convert from British Pounds to USD, their prices are pretty close to what we pay here in the States ( Canada as well ). That GAT may have a lot to do with it ( I failed to check the price without the GAT added ). I know that VAT in the UK is huge and really runs the price of things up. Unfortunately the good folks in Washington, have been looking at that and may try to push something like that through here ( we already have State and local sales taxes; in Virginia, where I am at, the State tax adds an additional 5% to the cost ).
