Just wanted to let everyone know not to use register.com for registering your domain name. When it is time to renew your domain name, there is no reminder to let you know and to ask if you want to continue with register.com. The way I found out is that my web site went down. I called them up and they told me that I would need to pay a reinstatement fee of $85.00 plus the one year minimum of $35.00 to get my domain name back. so in essence they can hold your domain name hostage until you pay them. I had no choice otherwise nobody could get to my web site. BTW, I have two domain names so it cost me $240.00 to get them back. It's nothing but legal extortion.

Wow that really sucks, The website feedback section is more for feedback about pcworld.com. So the post has been moved. Thanks for giving us a warning about register.com I wonder if theres any place you can report that too? There are opinion sites that are user generated like eopinion.com and such that you can warn more people about the dangers. I would imagine there may be the better business beuro (sp) that you can warn as well. Thanks again.
