i was working on a science project involving magnetism and i realized i was running late so i quick put stuff in my bag when i opened up my bag the next day, about 18 hours later, i realized that the computer was sitting on top of the magnets now all my stuff is gone, research, notes, music, pictures.. everything. so my question is.. was it my stupidity that caused this, or is it more likely a virus or something else, and its just a big coinsidence that it happened at the same time? also is there any way i can get it all back?thanks.

all memory devices are known to have an electromagnetic field around them. so, sad to say, but i do not have any doubt on your self proclaimed "stupidity"

It was probably the magnets, sad to say. There are some companies who do data recovery, but it is not cheap.
