unfortunately, I've missed Lilo and Stitch too, I heard that they used one of Elvis's songs in it, is that true?

Actually, they used seven:

Thank god that I toke a look at the link, before asking: "Who's Seven? You don't mean that K-Pop singer?" just kidding.

I thought Alien was pretty good and have that in my Library. Blade Runner was fantastic. Really had some atmosphere. Another good Sci Fi was 2001: A Space Odyssey. As for Horror, I prefer the ones with the old creaky houses and paranormal stuff. You can't really call stuff like Friday the 13th, Halloween, or Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror films as they more about psychopaths gone wild. I did like Hostel and to a lesser degree, Hostel II. I have two in my collection involving Video Games which were good. One is called "Devour" and the other "Stay Alive". I enjoyed both as they were certainly different.

Same here with the SciFi (Serenity, Blade Runner) and the classic horror, and like coastie, not into allot of the modern day slice and dice stuff. (Alien, Room 1408, Frankenstein, A.Hitchcock). Some of the older Vincent Price is pretty good, he tended to be in allot of "B" type movies, but I like his work.

One of the best car chase scenes in my opinion, was from RONIN.

I've found that what the "critics" like, I don't: what they don't like, I like and find entertaining.

Yeah i like horror too but can't say that the present age movies are scary. Anyone seen paranormal activity?? It may be a bit spooky but u can still sleep alone in the dark! As for slicin n dicing....nah, i like bullets n smoke... like that in Resident Evil(3D). Friday the 13th was also good.

Bullets n smoke, lol, I like that :D I did like the first Resident Evil, and the last one, Afterlife.

This may be a little corny, but I thought it had some great lines in it, Army of Darkness, with Bruce Campbell, who I also enjoy in Burn Notice.

Also, it may have gotten a little gory towards the end, but I thought the tension and feeling of claustrophobia was captured pretty well in, The Descent.

I don't know about you coastie, but I preferred the theatrical release of Blade Runner where Harrison Ford narrates it. I believe the directors cut didn't have the narration, and some critics claim it is better without his "uninspired" narration. I totally disagree.

I'm a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki too! My favorite has to be 'Spirited Away'.

@techie4fun: my friends made me watch The Notebook the other day and yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. Good acting, nice story line.. and yes, very romantic :) Thought it would be much more cheesy & bad... Not my favorite though :) Haha.. and horror movies are also not my genre.

Will watch Tron this week!

I did, and I can't say it was the most memorable movie I've seen although I like the lead characters --- romantic movies are a tricky genre because they can be so predictable. One of my favorites is "Sleepless in Seattle".
I've seen all but the most recent Resident Evil movies which I usually like because of Milla Jovovich, but I did NOT like "Extinction" (Question: What's the easiest way to save money on a movie? Answer: Film it in the desert and pretend it's "Mad Max".). I'm waiting for "Afterlife" to come out on Netflix.

lol, that's a pretty good switch from bullets n smoke to romance, you cover it all cyber :D The most romance I can take is Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt in Twister, yet as someone else here posted about The Notebook, I saw the very ending and thought it might be a good one to see. City of Angles is powerful, but has hard ending.

Hey there...i can't say "The Ugly Truth" is the best movie, but when u see too much of action n violence, a little change can always be refreshing! Plus i was actually attracted to a song that was played in the movie. It was a scene where an SUV is going on a bridge with a beautiful backdrop of setting sun or something like that!!
The song is "Pocketful of Sunshine"(or Take me Away) by Natasha. I really liked the song in the movie. So i downloaded it from a site but was disappointed by its audio quality. It was not so lively as in the movie!

I think I may have "The Fifth Element " in my collection as well. That was a pretty good Bruce Willis vehicle. For just a fun movie to watch, I have "The Goonies" in my collection. Blade Runner was a Harrison Ford film and very good. 2001: A Space Odyssey was from a book by Arthur C. Clarke as was it's sequel 2010 and both good. If you liked "The Fith Element" then I am pretty sure you would like Blade Runner. Haven't seen any of the Saw stuff, and I got tired of Friday the 13th long before Jason came out as I did Halloween. I think it was the third installment of Haslloween that i thought was pretty good and didn't involve MIchael Myers. It was a different story altogether and involved Halloween masks.

I have all of the Resident Evil films except the one that was done in CGI. I have another with Milla Jovovich called .45 that was ok. Anither one of those chick revenge things as I remember. I have all of the Indiana Jones stuff and just watched the last one ( The Kindom of the Crystal Skulls ) last fall. Wasn't sure how an aging Indy would come across, but turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I thought it was probably the best of the four as far as the story went. I wasn't all that thrilled with Extinction either. I have three Tomb Raider Movies that I like as well.

I put Romance in the same category as I do a lot of British Films. Too talky and little or no action. Now I have seen a lot of good stuff from there as well, The stuff out of the Hammer Studios ( Mostly Horror ). were good. I don't know which studios they came out of, but the films that centered around a Dr. or Prof. Quartermass were good.

Isn't it funny how tastes vary? I didn't like the 3rd Halloween at all, but I really liked Hostel.

If you do like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you might also like Wolf Creek, which is very similar. I also like the old creaky mansion movies too.

Darn it, now I really want to go watch a horror movie!

I remember working in a movie theater in Virginia when Hostel came out in theaters. Tickets sold out the opening weekend and one women went in, walked out and passed out, collapsed on the floor. When the medics came, she died of a heart attack. Boy did we have a lot of young teens sneak into this one :D I'll never forget it. And then I asked myself, "Who'd make a movie like this?" Some things I just don't ask anymore.

Edited to revise.

Hey coastie,
I have two of the Tomb Raider movies, the ones with Angelina Jolie, didn't know there was a third (which now I want). Can you tell me what the third is called so I can hunt it down?
