I got a dynamic disk by mistake so how can I change simple volumes back to primary partitions? Right now I put the disk in another computer and am loading windows 2000 which I think took off the dynamic disk but outside of this do you need a 3rd party and if not how can you do it. I try to change from a dynamic disk to a basic disk and said my disk is not empty and wouldn't change it.

I think the microsoft link should work - Windows 2000 is very similar to XP in the kernel. I know the disk management (diskmgmt.msc) is exactly the same.
