Lol my 1st question is; are you a troll? Or are you serious? Lol. Lolita is used on the Internet as a slang term for child porn, so are you serious?

Wrong. You're probably thinking of Lolicon, which is Japanese animated porn in which the characters appear to be children.

The actual term "Lolita" was coined by the English author Vladimir Nabokov in the early nineteen forties when he wrote several books about a man who had fallen in love with a post pubescent girl. The actual term itself can be derived from the Spanish character "Lola" who appeared in many of the books that Nabokov wrote before Lolita.

His original works where in fact banned and stopped publishing because they were almost pornographic. The dumbed down version of them became Lolita, which was an extremely popular book and sold over a million copies world wide, and was even made into a movie in the sixties (and then again in the nineties) staring Jeremy Irons and Melanie Griffith.

No, actually, he is right. Which is why most people here thought the original poster a troll.

Lolita is used as SLANG (put it in caps so you could see it better) in reference to child porn.

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov
