Hi, I've got the IP4200, and I tried to do some duplex printing earlier but it didn't quite work right, instead of printing each side so they were both the same way up, it decided to print it so they were opposite ways up to each other.i.e. instead of turning the page horizontally like a book to read the other side, you have to flip it over vertically. Can anyone give me any help with this?

First i must say that i have a Lexmark printer, but... :unsure Could be with Your "Page layout" settings. Portrait, what You have already, and long edge. Also if You have a booklet option in "Page layout" turn it off.

if you're printing landscape, go to page setup and select Short-side stapling (Left), then you should be able to print duplex without any problem

thats the setting for portrait, landscape is the setting I've given so looks like total duplex printing solved, I guess the original inquirer has possibly changed printers by now as the post was made in february of 2007, how do you like your pixma 870 and how does it differ from the ip 4200

Pixma MP780 ...Is all in one ..: Copy...printer ....scanner ....and fax ....Also comes with doc auto feede.

I bought it for about 3 years now .....No problem so far ..".just need alot of cartridges ..."

Its a nicest all in one Canon made ...IMO ...

We use it everyday ....and like it very much ....

The only thing I personally don't like is ..Its not "Network" ready ...So we had to buy wireless printer port ....
