I'm hearing impaired. Netflix has about 900 titles that are closed captioned even though they say they have about 1500. Amazon Prime has none, 0, nada. No does Blackbuster, by the way. So if I stream, I have no choice but Netflix, and then not much of a selection either. I'm forced to watch most movie on DVD.

I've asked Netflix when they might increase their CC l;ibrary but I get empty promises. Way to ignore the disabled, Netflix!

Thanks for mentioning this. This is an important deciding factor for me, although I am not hearing impaired.

Netflix's movies have the option of Closed Caption. Amazon's do not. I find the audio on the Amazon movies to be poor.

amazon prime also has current shows of episodes, plus they have the most recent aired episodes of a tv show which netflix does not do that

I tried Amazon's pay-per-view rental for the first time last night. And the last. For $2.99 (I had to place the order twice) I began watching "Vertigo." It was HD, but jumped a bit. (I have a 20Mb FioS connection.) Then, 30 minutes in, it stopped, sending up messages that it was downloading video, and that it had a slow connection speed of 368kB/sec. During the ten minute lull before it sort of got its act together I ran a couple of speet tests and verified my download speed was over 19Mb (i.e., 19,000 kB) per second. Finally when it restarted it delivered video in extremely low resolution. So low as to be completely unwatchable on our 46" TV. I got a refund, (they claimed they were doing a favor since it's against their policy to do so) but it ruined our night's entertainment. I've watched Netflix movies instantly for a couple of years without once experiencing such a problem. Amazon has lost my business. I don't care what titles they have.
