I'm looking for a photo manager for windows that has the capability to exclude keywords/tags from a search. Preferably one that uses a selection method similar to iPhoto. In iPhoto you click on a keyword to add it to a search, and click again to remove it from a search, however if you option+click you can exclude a given keyword from the search (IE. to search for all cars that are not red I would click on [cars] and option+click [red]). I also need it to be compatible with:
jpeg
tiff
png
gif
bmp

And would prefer it to be compatible with:
ico
psd
xcf


The closest I've found to this functionality is ACDSee Photo Manager. Unfortunately the only way to do such a search is to manually type in all the keywords you want to include/exclude. Which can be a real pain when you have many keywords you want to use.

Of course free would be preferred, but at this point... I'll take anything I can get. :/

Thank you both for your replies.

However, Picasa and I don't get along. It has too many automatic, strong arm behaviors. Like most Google software. Also it's not very friendly in a network environment.




Been using XnViewMP for a while now. Seems to be holding up pretty well.
