I am not sure what you mean. Why do you need to get them to work together?
I just finished it off - the entire Sierra Madre. I was hoping that stories would develop a little more, but they kind of killed parts of it for me. Also, if you were hoping it would end up slightly less linear at any point in time... sorry to dissapoint. The only real plus side, is that I walked out of there about 50,000 caps richer!

I figure I am going to back up my saved file from before I went in, go back to finish up a few quests, and do it again. Namely because I want the higher med skill when dealing with Christine - I want to see what that dialogue tree would have resulted in.

Don't know, but probably nothing. I concentrated on my med and repair skills from the git go until I maxed out both and didn't see where I could help her. I may have missed something in the dialogue as well.

You have to have some other skills wicked high to even get TO that dialogue option - and I had most of them... just short on the med skill. But I seem to recall it needing a high perception (7 in my case), science, and med. You pretty well need to be at 65 or higher in all the important skills to get the most from the conversation with her. I know I had to cheat for part of it (magazines, and mentats!

Using those isn't cheating. That is the purpose of putting them in the game. Both with Fallout 3 and Fallout : New Vegas, I tended to concentrate on the Medical and Repair. I never figured verbal skills would be much help with Super Mutants.

I guess that is why the replayability factor is so high for these games.
