I'm confounded how this camera tops the "Image Quality" charts when cameras like the D7000 and K-5 use the lauded 16.2 Mpx sensor from Sony. Nothing against Canon, but this camera is hardly cutting edge.

The D7000 body alone retails for $1100+. It is in a different category than the T3i.

Thanks for the information the T3i does look like it would make a good choice for an entry-level DSLR. I also like the built in external mic jack that can be utilized when making videos.
