Ubuntu 11.04--first Impressions!

I just burned Natty Narwhal to a CD to test out the new Unity environment. I like the "dock" launcher very much; when you bump it with a window it actually moves out of the way. The dashboard seems to also have come from Mac OSX, like the dock.
What are your first impressions?

That dock ought to be able to be placed anywhere I want. I'd rather it on the bottom. I don't like scrolling all over looking for apps. It seems to me it takes more clicks to find things with Unity. Gnome is just easier.

I also have it on a NetBook. It seems to perform faster on the netbook then prior editions. It's a good release. I'll also give Unity another try when 11.10 releases. Hopefully the Ubuntu One services will be improved as well.

As much as I hate to admit it, I stopped using the Ubuntu One services for the most part. It's great if you're in a Linux only environment, but I'm forced to use Windows on occasion too, and I've had nothing but trouble with the Ubuntu One client for Windows. I use Drop Box instead, which serves almost all of my needs.

I use both. Under 11.04 Ubuntu One is much better. Not as good as DropBox. And like you said, it's pretty much an Ubuntu service only where as DropBox is Linux, Windows, Mac. What I do is take a free 2 GB DropBox account for corporate files I want to keep in sync across platforms. Ubuntu One I use for my personal documents folder, pictures, TomBoyNotes, and so on. Since I don't use Windows or Macs for anything but business, this model works well. It keeps my business separate from my personal life. No business computer syncs my personal data as it is a completely different service. Yet my personal computers do sync my corporate data through dropbox.
There is a cost-savings to this model as well. I pay $29 a year for 20 GBs with Ubuntu One and pay $0 for the 2 GBs of DropBox. This is vs. payting $9.99 or $99.99 per year for a larger DropBox account.

UPDATE:I tried 11.10 and it was a whole lot better.
BTW:If you are still on 11.04 and had the same problems as me,
boot into classic Ubuntu and install a package from the software centre called Unity 2D.
That should do it.
