The author of this article has forgotten one major point. You may need to install the drivers for your phone on your computer. I cannot speak for all Android phones, but I know my Epic 4G did not work until the Samsung drivers were manually downloaded and installed. Now it works great.

I no very little to nothing about computers. (I am asking pretty much the same question in comment form. I wanted to start a new question but do not know how - sorry)
Sometimes, I plug in my phone and it shows up under Computer as p"SLOTVIDEO". Sometimes, it does not show up at all. Each time, I follow the prompts that my phone gives me (Mass storage, turn on... etc)
I've been reading that it is probably an issue with the driver. How do I find the driver to install? A couple of times when I plugged in the android, my computer alerted me to install the driver... this is driving me insane and I know it's something fairly simple. HELLLLLLP!
