This post is from Alawal who had some trouble creating a forum thread.

Quote

I have recently purchased a new PC which upgraded me to Windows 7 and Office 2010. I reinstalled Printscreen deluxe and cannot get it to work. It worked perfectly in the old XP computer.

With everything I have tried; Google, phoning (phone number doesn't work) email does not work. I am unble to contact American Systems who produce/sell Printscreen.

Does anyone have ant information regarding what has happened to Printscreen and/or American Systems?

I also have trouble finding the right place to click in the PC World Forum page to post a questio so do not know if this is it or not andhope I can find my way back to get any replies.

Alawal

First off, why do you need this tool? Windows Vista and 7 have the Snipping Tool built right in, which works plenty well (at least for me). If you want a more powerful tool, I've heard that TechSmith SnagIt is a good one.

Second, to create a new thread, look for the red 'Start New Topic' button on top of the list of threads and toward the middle. Thanks AgentF for doing that for him.

I found a website for this company but it doesn't load, so I wonder if they went out of business.

I looked at Google's cache of the page and it says version 7.1 works in Windows Vista, which means it likely works well in Windows 7 too. However, CNet.com says version 7.1 is only supported up to Windows XP.

Google took that picture only a couple days ago which could mean they're just experiencing technical difficulties. Since you can't even call them and their website hasn't been updated in years, I'd also guess they're closing shop.

Businesses are a huge part of the Windows market share. While Windows 7 was in development and it was realized that many older business applications wouldn't work past Windows XP, Microsoft decided to create Windows XP Mode. It's a virtual machine which means you're running Windows XP inside of Windows 7. The downfall in your scenario means that if the program is running while in Windows XP, the program won't see what's outside the Windows XP screen, like what you're doing in Windows 7.
