Generally I'd say the process should go like this:1) Determine what parameters you know about your choices: How much do you want to pay, what socket and number of CPUs do you want to be able to put on it, what connections/slots should it have to support what you'll add onto it, e.g. graphics card, sound card, etc., do you want overclocking options? Do you have a preferred company?2) The above should considerably shorten the list that you can then pick a handful or so and go find reviews of those boards to see how they fared on sites like Anandtech.com, Extremetech.com, hexus.net, Tomshardware.com or others that have hardware reviews to see how well some work or don't work.Just what I'd do,JB
