I want to supply ink jet printed labeled dvd duplications to my studio customers for their resale to their end users..My question is, " how do I decide which format to use, dvd-r or dvdr ?"There is no way to know which format the end users machine will be.My second question is, " why is the dvd-r media less expensive or more often on sale compared to the dvdr media? I want to use the TAIYO YUDEN media. Thanks, Rusty[/b]

Should I use DVD -R or DVD+R?

I've used both -R and R media for my clients. So far, nobody has complained about their DVD player not accepting the disc. However, I've read that -R are usually more compatible with older machines. I have an ancient JVC DVD player (circa 1999) and it will not read some R discs. It has read every -R I've put in it.I've never used TAIYO YUDEN media, but I have heard horror stories of people getting super-cheap discs and then having to pitch half because of bad media. For my printable media, I've only used RIDATA. So far, over 100 discs made without a coaster in my Pioneer DVR-108. YMMV.Good luck.
