[quote name='edahl']As we do every year, PC World is beginning to compile its list of the best 100 tech products available.> > > > Nominating a product is simple: Just pick one of your favorite tech products, web sites, or services and tell us why you think it belongs on our list. In the coming weeks, we'll take your nominations, add in some of our own and begin debating which products belong on the final list. > > > > That's it. Thanks for your help, and happy nominating!> > > > - Eric Dahl, Senior Editor @ PC WorldMy suggestion is Linux Open Source Software has to be Number One for Service and SupportIf I was to give my opinion on what software products have outranked all other software products. It would have to be Linux Open Source Software, over the last 12 months Novell's OpenSuse, Ubuntu, and Redhat Linux, have left Microsoft so far behind the times they will never catch up. When one can download a live CD or DVD version and run it on their computer without installing it and run all the free software, even get on the Internet via the CD/DVD, old computers can be brought back to life, with Linux, you don't have go out and buy a new computer system to run Linux. When one can cut the cost of Networking down to a faction of the cost of running a Microsoft Windows Network system running 8 to 10 workstations. With a Linux 8- 10 workstation network all one needs is :- 1 Computer fitted with 4- 5 dual head graphics cards and 1.5 gig of ram, 8 or 10 Keyboards, 8 or 10 Monitors, 8 or 10 mouse. each work station can run independent programs, this is the type of networks that is being placed in schools, to keep the cost of school IT budgets down.Did you know you can run Linux, and Windows, on the same system at the same time without rebooting Mr Eric Dahl, Senior Editor and your staff @ PC World, don't get to far behind the times that you can't catch up. Do your home work and research on Linux and be ready for your readers questions when the time comes. After all several PC Manufacturers have seen the light of day and are about to install and support Linux with their systems.:lol:Linux Open Source Software has to be number one for Service and Support from http://www.opensuse.org http://www.ubuntu.com ,

I was very skeptical when I installed it but now I have installed it on every computer.Firefox is opensource software that is writen by Linux programers so you can expect only the best from linux programers.... now try out linux to see if you like that, recommend ubuntu or opensuse from www.ubuntu.comwww.opensuse.org

I believe that the Nintendo Wii should be included among the top products because of it's remarkable versatility, appeal to all ages, innovative user interactive controls & the reasonable cost for the console. Plus the games are pretty cool from what I've seen, & more good products are in development. The only cons are the lack of blue-ray capability & the control needs to be sturdier.javascript:emoticon('8)')Cool

Another product that should be in the top products list is the Ipod shuffle player with the small square clip which allows the player to attach almost anywhere on your outfit/gear. It holds quite a few tunes & stays on during exercise or biking around. Very cool.javascript:emoticon('8)')Cool

i would have to think the Sling Box would have to be one of the top products. Its like the next Ipod of its kind. Its so well made. Its simple and easy to use. There are many like it doing the same thing but....its the sling box ...brand new some what brand new to the market and its just got that feel to it that it will succeed. You can use almost anything with it....TV, Xbox360 ive seen it done, dvd player, etc etc....its the next Ipod of its kind and its going to be great in the market of tomorrow.

I have to say that Nintendo impressed a lot of users with the new Wii console that came out. The First game console that utilize the wireless motion capabilities as well as potentially one of the first game console that can get people to be active instead of the standard sit down and hold the controller in hand type. This should be definitely included in the top 100 of this year!

Samsung Blackjack I would like to nominate the Samsung Blackjack Windows Mobile Smartphone with the QWERTY keyboard. The screen display is bright and sharp. If you add a Bluetooth headset its even more fun. You can listen to MP3s or watch videos. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera and also a camcorder. It comes with a spare battery. Its amazingly sleek and sexy.

My nomination for PC World's annual list of 100 Best Products of the Year is the Nintendo Wii. Nintendo Wii is unlike any game console before it in that you are an extension of the game play in a single motion instead of pushing buttons and then seeing the result of those choices in the game. This console also changes the way we game, (full body vs. in the hand only) and with whom we game (breaking age barriers from the very young to the elderly). In fact, it may have instantly made gaming a more healthy lifestyle. It's got my vote!

I'd have to nominate the Wii, my kids love it and they actually stand up and move their bodies instead of just staring at the TV, I love the physical involvment that is addressed for kids today, a little exercise is so great and they have so much fun, plus I just sit and laugh as I watch them play. It's Wii all the way for me:lol:
