Got to be YouTube as the product of the year!!!! Google buys it for millions, before it has even made a profit. It is all over the news, all the networks, newspapers, news websites, and blogs. So many sites now have YouTube videos embeded in them. And how many millions of people are watching the videos let alone posting videos.

I've had a Wii since the second week it was out and it's been fun to play ever since. The innovative controller works very well and I only see it getting better with time. A lot of the games seem silly but, when you get a crowd of people, they become the life of the party. I currently have 3 roommates who I didn't see for the first 3 months we lived together. Since I got the Wii, we're together, in the living room, 3-4 nights a week!

I would choose the Wii and the MacBook/MacBook Pro. The Wii has already revolutionized how we play games. The MacBook is the first Mac in a long time that was not only affordable; it also ran Windows XP. It will be seen in years to come as the beginning of a Mac resurgence in the marketplace. Note: iPhone and AppleTV are 2007. They'll make the list next year.

I nominate the Apple iPhone. Here's a product that hasn't even shipped, no one other than a select few have used...and it's already reshaped an entire industry. Now that's innovative.Just goes to show that Thinking Different can product great results. Even if the iPhone comes out and it sucks (which we all know it won't)...it is forcing all the tired, me-too, cell phone manufacturers to improve their shoddy products...to actuallly think about what the consumer wants instead of sticking useless features in smaller and smaller size phones.yup...definitely going to change the world....

I'd like to nominate Schoolhouse, a nifty little Mac app that has been instrumental in helping me keep track of my college assignments. I can even sync assignments to my iPod and calculate my grades. Just what I need.http://www.loganscollins.com/schoolhouse/

Yeah, I'm sure others are crowing about it, and I'm sure others are thinking that the other consoles looks better and thus deserve bigger nods. But what stands out about the Wii to me is how FUN gaming is on it! That to me is what makes it a winner, its revolutionary control system and how interactive gameplay is because of it.In addition, the Wii has an elegant user interface that is very intuitive. Setup was easy. The Mii idea is brilliant; it's just a shame more games don't take advantage of it.So, my nod for product of the year is the Nintendo Wii.

I want to nominate PortableApps.com for one of the top spots. The site has a ton of apps that can be run from a flash drive and they are all for free. the apps are also always updated. as soon as the install only version of an app comes out PortableApps.com has a portable version in Beta testing within days and a final release out in 2-3 weeks. The apps are growing in number and it is a great website for 2006 and it will only get better in 2007!:)

[quote name='kellie']Generally, we feature products released from mid-year the year before (in this case, 2006) until mid year the current year (2007). However, this is not a strict requirement, so as long as you think the product is good, feel free to nominate it!oh, sorry

I agree. I've run over 100 times and close to 800 km since August 2006. Very compelling and motivating to use this product. The Nike website gets better and better and it's just plain fun to see your latest run animated in Flash.Kudos also to Marware for the Sportsuit Sensor which allows me to use the Nike with my Asics shoes.> {quote:title=Dasgeek wrote:}{quote}A lot of people thought "Who is going to want that?" but the Nike iPod Sport Kit has been a great accessory to drive iPod and Nike shoe sales. It got me running more. The NikePlus website has also been a success logging over 10 million miles of running by its members.

I think that NeXTStep should be nominated. With out NeXT Apple might not be here today and the NeXTStep operating system was the foundational design of OS X. With out NeXT and Steve Jobs coming to Apple. Other products like the iPod may not have come and with out that other products like the crappy Zune may not be here.
