For once we are in 100% agreement.
If I dispute one single point in a post, that should not be taken as an indication that I agree/disagree with any other point made by that poster or anyone else in the thread. Or anywhere else. Ever.

Actually, now that I think about it, it could potentially have use as a reference finder. if the button could look up useful data regarding what you're looking at, like say pointing it at the Louvre in Paris and pressing the button would pull up the louve website or information on the Louvre and its history, etc.

A replacement for a camera it will never be, but if it's functions could be incorporated into your camera (or, more appropriately, you're I-Phone/I-Pad/Android/etc. device)...
There's some potential.

The picture is completely random except for it being taken at the same time you pushed the button. Random amount of time later...you get to see this random picture. It has no link between what your doing and what your looking at other than the time you pushed the button. Seems like a complete waste. If I wanted to look at random pics, I would do just that.

Exactly, why would anyone want to take a picture then wait hours to see a picture that someone else took and never see the picture you took? Well, I guess it would have to actually be a camera in order to take a picture but this whole idea is just useless.
