Try doing a little fact checking. Virgin Mobiles first Android phone is the LG Optimus V.

If people jump on the Triumph like they did the Optimus V you can expect a ton of custom roms and other goodies in no time flat.

You're right simpleminded, I'm definitely going to jump on this! (current LG Optimus V owner)

You're right about this simpleminded! I currently own an LG Optimus V, and have been waiting for a faster Android phone from Virgin Mobile.

Beg your pardon, folks. That was supposed to say Virgin Mobile's first MOTOROLA phone, not Android. My fingers got ahead of my brain. -BR

You spent more time reviewing what it isn't by constant comparisons to high end phones. A more accurate review would be to compare it to current Virgin Android phones. Lazy writing.

That's all you see anymore in reviews. If we wanted the "high end" (many times lots of features that mean little or nothing) we'd be reading about them. To constantly compare to other phones does nothing for the review. Tell us about the product and keep the "it's not as good as..." comparisons out of it because I really don't care.

I doubt it's a lack of demand for high end smartphones that's causing their shortage :-D It's just that the carriers love to make fat profits of moron consumers willing to pay crazy prices for phones as long as they can be lied to about the cost of the hardware. A refurb iphone 3gs costs 24 months x $105 for unlimited test and calls plus 2gb data from ATT. That's $2,520. This phone costs $300 plus $40 per month for the same (ok, 1200 minutes plus more data and no data overage fee, just a throttling. Its a wash).
That's exactly HALF THE PRICE. And its a more capable phone, to boot.

The cost of this phone ($300) is about half of iPhone 4 ($650 without contract). Currently, there are no comparable plan offerings on prepaid plans among carriers (Virgin offers unlimited data and text, while others offer metered data).

Still, regardless of how you look at it, Virgin's plans are best bang for the buck, and the price of the phone is appropriate ($300 is about the right value, compared to competition).
