If only some entity OTHER than Google had come up with this it might then be worth checking out.
However since it’s another G Tool you have to decide if it’s worth the privacy risks that come with all their data collection related software.
That risk is do you trust Google to not keep/store/use this data for its own means or to provide it to others be they private or government related or even NGO's?
The verdict? Not On your life.

I may be miss reading this but isn't this a tool that will allow you to find out what is already out there about you and anything new as it comes, so you wouldn't actually be adding anymore information. Also may lead to controlling that information...

I use DuckDuckGo and Ixquick instead of Google. Both these search engines are set up to not track you. DDG deletes their log files daily. It also has an anonymous built-in proxy using the prefix "!proxy" before any web address. DDG is also highly customizable with its own cool syntax shortcuts ("!bang").
Get off Facebook and get off Google. Stop using your real name and stop blabbing every detail of your life story to total strangers.
