Sound Trouble

This is my first post here:lol:Anyway i have Windows XP and lately my sound has completly gone,when i play music files saved on my computer all is o.k which is played through Windows Media Playe.But if i click any links off websites i get the video but no sound off youtube for example and google video theres nothing!Any help appreciated if someone can help me can you give me step by step instructions as im new to all this.Thanks:)

Welcome!What browser are you using? Do you have the flash plugin installed for your browser? YouTube, and I believe Google Video, is in the flash (.flv) format.If you are using Firefox and are unsure, you can type about:plugins into your address bar to see a list of all the plugins you have installed.

Windows Internet Explorer i am using and when you say address bar where do i find this,also should i type in to this address bar 'about:plugins 'Sorry if these are very basic question but like i say i am a newcomer.Thanks Chrs

No problem. The address bar is where the URL is typed/displayed. For example, PC World's URL is http://www.pcworld.comYou can go here to download the latest version of Flash: http://www.macromedi...lash/about/Make sure you get the version for Internet Explorer.Hopefully this will fix your problem!

I visited that site and it says Macromedia alreday installed version 9,0,28,0?Still no joy.also when i typed that into the address bar Navigation Has Been Cancelled was diplayed?Thanks for your help any other ideas?
