Greetings,

I've been coming around a few times, trying to read-up on certain products and what not.
quite frankly, I am a little disappointed not able to find much relations to Netbooks or Notebooks.
at times i questioned myself, if Netbooks and Notebooks are actually legitimate synonyms.
if so, it is apparent PCWorld has been ignoring those synonyms for quite sometime.

i just think it's a tad odd.

cheerios.

Notebook is just another term for laptop. A netbook is a smaller version of a laptop, about 10" of screen space (diagonally), and don't have internal optical drives like CD/DVD/BD. I wouldn't consider myself a big reader of PCWorld articles because I spend more time on the forums & wiki, but I think there are plenty of netbook articles about. When something new or interesting comes out, there's likely an article. The hardware and software are pretty much the same, only more limiting, so you can submit a help query for a netbook either in the Laptops board, or in a more appropriate board depending on the problem.

Not sure what you are really after/talking about.

The PCWorld website section for "reviews" has a top 10 netbooks list in the Laptop section:

http://www.pcworld.c...0_netbooks.html

FWIW, traditionally speaking the term laptop and notebook are used kind of interchangeably, although laptop is generally thought of as the more generic term than notebook while notebook these days is thought of more as a "regular" sized laptop as opposed to a netbook. As such, notebook and netbook are generally not thought of as synonyms. Netbooks are basically a sub-set of laptops as laptop is generally the more generic term for all "portable computers".
