If google+ delivers a superb experience on mobile, tablet, desktop and TV, than not only Zuckerberg should be afraid. Steve Jobs should be affraid the most.

If it continues to grow as I expect, soon I won't be on forums like this. Someone I know and respect will write articles and post them to their G+ stream. And I and others will repsond to them there. If a troll chimes in, we'll just block him. No moderators. No bad behavior. All the rotton noise will go away because each person will be in control of their unique stream of information and circle of friends.
It's like a bomb just went off. We're still in the billionths of a second after initial ignition. We haven't even felt the wave, pardon my pun, of the explosion yet. Right now, I'm following Andy Rubin, and three other Googlers so I am kept up with what's going on. I'm following those that I share views with on Google in general. I have my circle of friends, and even some news sites have created + streams. It's all just beginning.

Yeah, Apple wanted to tie in with Facebook, but the zuck wasn't interested. It's been reported months ago. And we see the deeper integration with Twitter. Apple clearly wants to be part of the social. Google is just putting really huge resources into actually doing it. Social really requires openness, which Apple tends to shy away from.

Interesting read, just one comment.. Facebook do offer iFrame integration for pages which use CSS & HTML. Although you are right about the restrained width (520px) which causes some problems for designers.
