I also was not impressed with Droid 3's performance. Hardware like that should be a lot snappier than the other less capable devices, but yet it isn't. The only conclusion one can draw is that its Moto's crappy we-not-calling-it-Blur-anymore customization that is slowing everything down.

I don't see how it could be any snappier... everything on my D3 opens instantaneously.

While I was playing with the D3 in the store everything seemed very snappy. The first impressions *video* on Droid-Life was showing a very snappy device too. I took a couple pics in store that looked fine (no blue hue) but didn't get a chance to do outdoors (obviously). I was really hoping the camera is where Moto fixed what I think are huge short comings on the camera on the original Droid. Being that this is close to the Bionic launch, I'm going to be thinking the revisions on the Bionic are not going to be any better. But time will tell. If Samsung would just give us the dang SGS II already, all this would be a no brainer....<sigh>

My fiance has had the device for almost a week, and has experience excellent call quality and very snappy response times. My time with the phone and doing side-by-side comparisons with my new Dinc2 shows the screen leaves a lot to be desired, and is barely visible in direct sunlight. Also, the still camera is much weaker and a little slower than my phone, but the video in 720 is AMAZING. She recorded video at a concert that looks and sounds almost professional quality. My motorola phones in the past that I've had problems with were generally due to poor QC from the factory. I had to swap my Droid 1 a couple days later because the call quality was exactly what was described in the review above. Once I exchanged it, it worked great! I've had to do that with other motorola phones in the past too.

Dont do it...dont buy a droid 3 until they fix all the problems with making and recieving phone calls and staying connected to bluetooth ear pieces. It is an ok computer and a terrible phone. you may need to blame verizon as well for the dropped calls missed calls and general poor quality of calls. they have also forced you to keep worthless applications like vz navigator etc.on the phone. SO DISSAPPOINTING.

It wont connect any programs short of netflix on wifi. Skype wont even connect. it says to go to 3g, turn off wifi. Hate to say it, but if i had reception, do you think I wouldnt just call the old fashioned way. All the Android phones on Verizon seem not to work well. Put up against my brothers 2 Androids on ATT, I couldnt even get in the race. I believe Verizon has done too much playing with the operating system. I love the features of the Droid 3. Just wish they would work. I personally switched hopefully temporarily to the iPhone 4. Apple wont let anyone play in their operating system. All the apps work fine even on wifi. Which is great if you fly and would like to communicate with family or if your really bored, the boss, using another communication program. Droid 3 isnt for a business persons phone at all. If I have no communication method outside of the network or in airplane mode, its just a brick in a case. Love the features, hate the carrier. Wish Verizon would wise up and let the phones work to their full potential. They can say whatever they want. but if what they say is true, why does the iPhone work so well??? Wish it had a built in keyboard as well. For now I say pass on any stock Verizon droid. Why waste money on a phone that wont work.

Verizon service great but Droid 3 not so great. Verizon is great about spending an hour each phone trouble shooting with you, and shipping you new phones, on my 3rd one is 2 weeks (only been with them 2 weeks), and when the 3G worked, it was great, but then the phone didn't, when the phone works, then the 3G won't (different devices). Maybe it can't do both good at the same time. Skip it unless you just want to LOOK like you are cutting edge, and find one that works just as a phone, and that's all you want.

i am on my third phone to be shipped to me by Wednesday. The first two had same problems of shutting off when i rec'd a message or a phone call. it alo had to be on speaker when i put in my password to retrieve my messages from voicemail. i was not happy with customer service and techs. i was told what i couldn't do, not what could be done to solve the issues with the droid 3.
