They might have a chance at me buying their games if they'd ditch this online-only DRM nonsense. If the game is online like World of Warcraft, that's one thing - but this is just stupid.

Many years ago, in reaction to yet another claim that piracy was driving game prices upwards I hypothesised a game with "perfect" anti-piracy mechanisms. Would a game that's hard or impossible to pirate end up costing less, because the publishers were losing less to piracy? Or would the fact that legitimate copies no longer had to "compete" with pirate copies free the publishers to charge more? I think the answers starting to materialise...
Note: I'm not condoning piracy; I just wish it wasn't waved around as an excuse to shaft legitimate buyers.

I own laptops for a reason, that is to be portable. Portable means that I do not always have internet access. Add to this that some 30% or more of the US has no high speed internet access, and you can see quickly how these morons can alienate better than 30% of the buying market just in aggressive DRM like this. I voted with my dollar on every one of their titles. Flat refusing to buy them. I don't care if the game is available for my XBOX. I don't care what their excuse is. They want to restrict people this way, fine. I don't need your game.
To this day, the only DRM I can stand is STEAM. Because I can easily tell it to stay offline when I decide to go places, and I don't ever need a disc.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov

I'm sure they will - that's why I use the word "hypothesised"
