I downloaded a software named Smart disk to get an attachment for an email to work. After I installed it I found that I had to purchase it so I uninstalled the software, the next day on Startup there was a pop-up that said something to the effect that there was a problem with installation and I constantly getting Internet Explorer Script Errors, I can’t find any files through Windows Explorer, but I can access some of them through MS excel, iSeedsee, etc. According to this blog:how to get rid of fake windows restore virus,I had got infect with windows restore virus, Is that true? What should I do?

I'd try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware in safe mode with networking. (push F8 repeatedly before the windows logo appears) Use the free versions of each.

Hi Mike :
IF you do have one of the many "Fake/Rouge" programs currently
circulating over the internet, then I recommend you read the
"Uninstall Guide" developed by a security Expert at
http://www.bleepingc...windows-restore .
Anytime someone has one of these "Fake" programs on their
computer, there are several PRELIMINARY "Steps" that should
be done PRIOR to using or even downloading the highly
regarded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware . "SUPERAntiSpyware' is
a secondary choice to using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware .

Hmm one of the messages, according to that site, that it displays is:
Critical Error
Hard Drive not found. Missing hard drive.
How is Windows running so the program can say that then?
