Hello All! I am new to this Forum and wanted to let you know about the slightly less than perfect experience I had today with PC World! I live in West London and the nearest stores to me are either the High Street Kensington one or the Brentford Megastore. I needed to buy a new router and - unfortunately for me - I chose to go to the Brentford store! Nowhere had I seen any information that this store was in fact closed for refurbishment and so, when I got there, I was just a bit surprised to see how many cars were in the car park! I had never seen it that full before....As I got out of my car and started to go up the steps I noticed to my surprise that there was no one actually in the store apart from construction workers and fitters and it was in fact closed to the public!!! There was no sign from the road indicating this and I was - frankly - a little bit irritated. I asked one of the workers there and he vaguely pointed "Over there" when I asked him where the store had gone to.....!! "Over there" turned out to be the other side of the main road where PC World was temporarily "squatting" in the local Currys store. I went in and was greeted by a very smiley girl who directed me to where the routers were - she was the only "smiley" person in the store! The checkout was manned by a gentleman who was there on his first day and didn't have the first clue how to work the till....The experience was topped off by the fact that getting a carrier bag was a bit like trying to find the Abominable Snowman.... They told me that they didn't "do" carrier bags any more!
I just hope that when the new refurbished Megastore opens, they pay some attention to the customer service side of things. It was not a pleasant experience. The only plus side is that the router - a Belkin Share N300 - works very well.
Thanks for listening :-)
Sally

Don't feel bad about it. We've gotten quite a few people making that mistake!
