I thought about downgrading or quitting Netflix, but I accepted the changes. I hate it, but here's why:

The only way to stop the greed is to stop supporting it, if you allow Netflix to stick it to you, and you stay with them, then they'll have no reason to reconsider, so get a little backbone and send the message.

Since I rarely ever used the streaming service (so few titles to choose from), I opted out of that and instead picked up the Blu-Ray service. Net cost to me is the same as it was before, I just swapped one service for another.

dropped streaming and kept dvd's by mail. Like the streaming but didn't use it that much because my internet speed is pretty bad where I live. If I get a faster speed someday I will stream again, only it might not be Netflix. Cheers.

Bias much? Oh btw, NFLX is down to 233.27 from its July high of 298.73. And with the afterhours annoucement of STARZ being dropped from streaming its down another 20%. They may have expected to lose some customers but not 30% of thier stocks value. Somebody got greedy.

1. I wasn't outraged (just disappointed) by the increase and didn't believe in threatening to cancel my account.

2. IMHO if the streaming catalog is expanded with an increase in the amount of current content (say more titles that 6 months old or less) then yes the increase is justified.

3. I shrugged, looked at the options and switched to the 2 DVDs at a time unlimited which was only $2 more than the 1 DVD at a time unlimited with streaming. If the streaming catalog adds more content that I'm interested in I may add it back.

Higher price, less content. Not a good way to make your customers happy Netflix.

Actually, I am paying less per month...$7.99/month payment. I just don't bother with DVD's being sent to me and having to mail them back.
