It's been exactly ten years since my fiance,Debby Zydalis passed away. She was an avid techie and loved computing and was originally a roadie with the band she worked for when we met.Her first system was a hand me down from my collection and I wanted to honor her here at the forums.I kept her system intact and have it now in my vintage collection. It passed all tests recently and still works.

I keep a cluttered mess. Some of this is left over stuff from trying to unlock the BiOS on my Gateway.

Sorry to hear that! Just so you know, if you want to keep this system working, replace that Deer PSU. Those can fail and take out the entire system.

That is a definite winner. I just noticed the temp down there. I believe it may be a bit warmer up here in Richmond. I just looked and I'm showing 69, so not by much. The home of "Wild" Bill Elliot.

What aero tint do you use? I use the light-gray one. Also, why do you reduce your screenshots to 1024x600? Where is that anyway? I like it.

I didn't reduce it, Photobucket did. I have no idea of where that is as I forgot to note it. :P The aero is whatever the default is as far as I know.

You can tell a lot about a man by looking at his desktop.

The clutter is comical.

But REAL PLAYER?!

Why does coastie have Winzip either? I just use 7-zip - works at least as well, and it's free.

My desktop was pretty cluttered, and I was using Stardock Fences to deal with it, but then I realized that I have the icons hidden 98% of the time anyway, so I deleted a bunch of stuff and threw some into other folders to clean up. I then uninstalled Fences, and it seems to have helped my login time. Now...

Man it would be nice if photobucket would quit decreasing the size of my pictures when uploading...

I can understand WinZip or WinRar, both have much more friendly interfaces than 7-zip. I actually avoid 7-zip.

But Real Player is slow, clunky, and has many decent alternatives.

edit: use ImageShack, as you can tell it not to resize your images.

Really? The thing is, I prefer 7-zip because, with it being free, if I ever need to recover my stuff I don't have a risk of loosing the installer and such - I just download it. I find the 7z format works pretty well. I haven't used Real Player in quite a while.

Winrar is annoying, but still, it is free-ish.
