Anyone else here try this yet?

So far, on the laptop I have to say... meh.

It has a clean interface to be sure. Accessibility options are available at any time (something Microsoft could learn from). Hardware detection was perfect. Still no Nvidia Optimus support, but nothing new there.

I assume this thing is running Gnome Shell. So far, my opinion of it is not good. They made it easy to get to a few select programs, most of which I care nothing about, while making it considerably harder to get to the software I do care about. I also have not found an easy method to turn off the stinkin machine. So far, I am stuck using the good ol command line.

Stability seems to be hit or miss. The OS seems solid enough, though reports errors during start up. Most applications work well, but simple fun ones are broken. Cheese for example, loaded fine, and likes the Lenovo integrated webcam. BUT died instantly the moment I selected the 'Chrome' effect.

Boot times are actually quite nice. Easily beating Windows 8 on the same hard drive (a 5400rpm) and somehow weighing in pretty close to Windows 7 even though Windows is on a faster (7200rpm) drive.

You can tell there has been considerable effort into uniformity, and ease of use. But I would suggest holding off until the final release version, as it definitely has a few bugs to work out.

I've tried it, but I have it loaded into a VM, so there's pretty much no Gnome3 showing. I can't really fault it for that. All in all, I'd have to say that I agree with your assessment. Meh.

sorry waldojim, still i didn't try Fedora 15 in laptop. But could you help me what's the exact use of this. And would it make any effect on laptop and PC. And not much but something i know about it whether it right or not. This page documents common bugs in Fedora 15 and, if available, fixes or workarounds for these problems. If you find your problem in this page, do not file a bug for it, unless otherwise instructed. Where appropriate, a reference to the current bug(s) in Bugzilla is included.
