That HP looks great. They have some very nice IPS displays.

Dell also a couple options depending on what is important.
Ultrasharp u2410. This is also an IPS display, capable of displaying 110% of the NTSC color gamut (96% RGB / 100%sRGB). That one is $499.

U2412 This one is about $100 cheaper. It is still an IPS display. However, it is not as bright, does not cover nearly as wide a color range, only displaying about 16Million colors (vs 2 billion), leaving the display at 82% color gamut.

I use a 95% coverage display right now on my notebook. It is worth the extra money.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'" -- Isaac Asimov

I have never had a problem with ASUS products. Always quality and reliable. I think this might interest you.

It depends on your own preferences, for my suggestion,24 inch is enough, buy a full-hd sharp ips is better.

You can buy Dell Monitor in this budget. This monitor provides a brilliant view, plus amazing adjustability to suit any style.
