I have a Genius G-shot DV610. It works pretty good though there is one thing I don't like, and that is that when I shoot, there is a 1 second delay before it actually shoots and that any movement at all shows up as a blur. There doesn't seem to be a menu that includes shutter speed. This is one of 2 features, the other being aperture size from my SLR that I thouroughly enjoyed back in the day. The fact seems to be that for simple point and shoot cameras like mine, shutter speed doesn't seem to be available. Is there a digital camera available that includes these 2 functions?

Digital Camera or Camcorder? If you are looking for a really good P&S that has "easy to use" manual functions as well as automatic functions that won't break your wallet you two best bets, (as far as I know) are the Nikon Coolpix P5000 and the Canon G7. Both bodies are $500 or so, I think the Nikon is cheaper but I have used the Canon in full manual and there is nothing like it YET!Both cameras can take external flashes of any type with their hot shoes and offer pretty ease to use manual functions. I like the Canon more because I have used it, and because there is a scroll/rocker whell on the back that lets you control the aperture and shutter speed. You can practically do it with one hand. And it also takes Hi Rez SD footage and quasi HDV quality movies at 30fps. The Nikon has some good specs like the high ISO 3200 while the Canon only has 1600. But it is only at 5mp or lower to reduce noise. It is compatible with the high end Nikon flash system... you get the idea... check them both out and I am sure there are others made by the other big companies.I am a big Nikon user but that Canon G7 may be in my bag pretty soon.:D
