I ran Blake Stone on and IBM AT machine. The cpu was suped up to run at 16 MHZ. The memory for the video was 16 MB and ran on 640 X 480. Loaded DOS 3.2 from a 40 MB hard driveand later PC-DOS 4.0. The game ran from a floppy, A HD 1.2 MB 5 1/4 inch. I don't know if it would run from a 360K floppy. Initial game was eight floors and then expanded to 15 floors. So many false walls and corridors.

The 4377 with graphics, what about Zork? It used the greatly expanding imagination for its colors.

My first and favorite was originally written as a text based game and then later written in basic by Harrel Stiles on a Commodore Pet called MinerVGA in 1989. I later found it for DOS and of course with the DOS window you could play it on Win3.1. Public Domain...FrodoSoft.

How far back into DOS do you want to go? Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, Oregon Trail. Don't forget BOLO. And all the great text adventures for those that have a vivid imagination.
