Hi Stnick,The easiest solution is to uninstall and then reinstall that program. During the first installation, there may have been an issue that prevented the application from installing properly. If you do a fresh install, I am certain that will correct the problem. If it does not, post again.

Okay, I am on their website right now. I do not see a specific executable download file labeled "digitalsoundrecorder.exe." I see one that says "digitalrecorder.exe." Is that the one you downloaded? Also, where exactly did you get the executable file? If you got it from a P2P site or a third party site, the file may be corrupt.Let me know. I will try to duplicate the problem that you are having.

Hi Stnick,I downloaded the program and installed it with no problem. I opened it when I was finished installing it and it opened fine. I would advise going directly to the company's website and download another .exe file. If that does not work, post back and we can try some other things.

Do you have other audio software that may be conflicting with this program? As a matter of fact, please list all of the audio programs you use as well as the audio driver. If you don't know where to find the audio driver info, post and I will help as much as I can.

Well, none of those should give you the type of error message you received. Okay, here is what I have found. I went online and I found almost the exact same error message pertaining to another program."Access violation at address 009732A8 in module jade.exe, Read of address 000000B4"This is a program specific problem. You have two options at this point:1) Uninstall the program again. When you are done, restart in SAFE mode. The easiest way to get to SAFE mode is to repeatedly hit F8 when the computer is first turned on. Once you are completely booted up in SAFE mode, install the program again. If you are able to complete the installation process, attempt to open the program while still in SAFE mode. If you get any error messages, while you are in SAFE mode or when you reboot in normal mode, uninstall the program and proceed to...2) Contact the vendor's technical support department via their email address and let them know the problems you have had. Since I believe this is a program specific problem, they may have a fix or they will let you know when another version of that software is available.

Hi mphenterprisesI tried in safe mode cannot download program cause in safe mode I don't even have internet before going to the start menu it tells me that there is something that cannot be fixed or corrected in safe mode also I forgot to tell you that this program works on my desktop pc with no problem but not on my laptop so the problem might not be with the program itself and I also sent an e=mail twice to the help support from this website and no response yet so don't know what to do anymore so thanks for trying to help me greatly appreciatedstnick

Why are you trying to download the program in SAFE mode? Unless you deleted the executable file, it should still be on your hard drive when you enter SAFE mode. You do not have to go onto the internet.Try this: Boot up the laptop in normal mode, if you have deleted the .exe file, go back to the company's website and download the file again. When the download is complete, reboot the company in SAFE mode and only try to INSTALL the program - Do Not Attempt to Access the Internet in SAFE mode. If you are unable to INSTALL the program in SAFE mode, please post exactly what error message comes up.You mentioned that you got an error message that said there is something that cannot be fixed or corrected in SAFE mode. Can you give me the exact error message? That message may be linked to another program or hardware problem.Since it works on your desktop and not your laptop, you are correct, this is not a program issue. Let's not give up so quickly. There is always a way to get to a solution.

HiOk did what you said went into safe mode but before entering windows this is the message This special diagnostic mode of windows enables you to fix a problem wich may be caused by your network or hardware settings. Make sure these settings are correct in control panel and try starting windows again. While in safe mode some of your devices may not be available.and when I installed the program tried to open it this is the error message I gotYou can't use the software since you haven't the system of soundcard in your computer

Okay, now we are getting somewhere 8)The first error message is very pelicular but that is not at issue at this time. What is at issue is that second message. There is a conflict between the soundcard of your laptop and the program itself. There may not be anything you can do about it. The only option you have, besides upgrading your soundcard, is to go to the manufacturer of the soundcard's website and update the driver for your soundcard. What is the make and model number of your laptop? Once you provide that, I will try to direct you to the appropriate driver update.

Okay, here is what I found:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3279937&lang=enThis link is for Windows XP Operating System. If you have any other version of Windows, let me know and I will see what I can do. Download both drivers in the "Driver - Audio" section. Both drivers were updated as of November and December of last year. Once you download them, install both of them and then restart your computer. Once you completely restart your computer, try to open the Recorder program.Let me know what happens after all of that :-)

At this point, you have two options...If this program is absolutely vital for you to use on your laptop, than you have to upgrade your soundcard. There may be some conflict between the Covexant soundcard and the recorder program. Since it worked on my computer and on your desktop, we narrowed the problem down to a hardware conflict. If this program is not crucial for you, there are plenty of recorder programs out there that will not conflict with your soundcard. If you would like help finding one that will work for your needs, let me know.

I would try www.download.com. Put in your search criteria and then narrow it down by products that are free. There are so many different types of recorders and I would be bias to give names of any just because I use so many myself. Look at the user reviews and enjoy.:-)
