This list only includes games coming out or expected in 2012. Skyward Sword is coming out Nov. 24 2011.

It is deplorable that all but two of the slides for these games feature a weapon of some type.
Aren't there any games of merit that do not include violence as a part of them?
Is this what our society wants? More violence?
What happened to games like RR Tycoon and Sim City?
Are they not in demand or is it just easier to churn out the violent trash that seems to have become mainstream?
How will our society be viewed in the future when the most advanced form of entertainment involves maiming an killing?

Are there no decent games coming out for the Wii? Sadly the only game listed for kids under 13 was Minecraft.

The Wii U is supposed to be out next year, so not many developers are focusing on the Wii.

Having reached that age in life where I have time to look over the ways I have wasted my time, I find that I am resentful of anything that wastes my time. Now sombody eants to introduce a whole new supply of time wasters. I regard myself as fairly competent in the use of the English language but I lack the ability to adequately describe my opinion of time wasters.

The game people make games according to what the public wants. You have the option of not buying any. Log into Pogo.com and play Monopoly.

All of the "anticipated" games seem violent. Aren't there any new games coming out that can be played by the whole family? No killing, please, our kids (and adults) already are exposed to far too much violence.

It would be nice if PCWorld did an article about the state of PC Gaming. What is the state of engine development for state of the art PC Games? Can we expect any outstanding PC Games comming out in 2012, that are not ported from console games? Are we going to have to wait until the next generation of consoles before we can expect developers to make use of all the great tools out there? Will the next generation of consoles make use of multi-threading, DX11, Tesselation, etc.?

Try Portal and Portal 2...these aren't exactly new games, but they don't have any violence. It's just a matter of solving a series of puzzles that you have to figure out to advance through the game. It was actually quite an amusing and challenging game once you get the hang of using the 'portal gun' which is used to open a 'portal' to another place.

Maybe it is because Skyward Sword technically came out in 2011

You are not adequate in the English language; this is a terribly written sentence. On another note, you took the time to look over an article that entitled "The 20 Most Anticipated Video Games of 2012". They may be a waste of time to you, but to others they are pastimes.

I concur. I believe it will be looked back in much the same way we look at the Romans when they were in power.

Personally I would like there to be a greater emphasis on city building, economic and learning games. A language game would also be fun, one that teaches you a range of different languages through fun puzzles. It wouldn't hurt to include some action snippets for those action gurus.

Regards,

B

I genuinely agree with you, I was quite literally addicted for 6-7 years of my life to gaming. Knowing that I wasted all that time makes me feel sick, I wish I could get that time back.
