Aps-c Sensor In Mega-zoom Camera?

Since some mega-zoom cameras are almost as big as DSLR's why can't they put APS-C size sensors in them? This would give them better low light images, cover the range of multiple lenses, be easier to use, and less expensive than a DSLR.
