We watched "Hugo" this weekend: EXCELLENT movie, I may buy the bluray version for my collection. It definitely has replay value; I'm told the 3D version in the theater was also terrific, immersive rather than in-your-face.

Last movie I saw was The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I give it 7.00. I just finished the book and I got surprised by the ending .They have simplified the story from the book. Still it was a good movie.

After some considerable debate, I decided to go and see John Carter before it had left the big screen completely. I had to drive 30 miles to the last theather showing it. Three weeks ago I dug out the eleven book paperback series that E.R. Burroughs wrote a century ago. The first book was what was included in the movie. It is more of a fantasy and sci-fi mixed together. It answered one question I had about the book and was graphically illuminated for me. I can understand why it cost $200 million to make. I can also understand why it flopped onthe big screen. Too much information to take in and what looks like a disjointed story line can leave many in the dark even after the lights come back up. I don't see any sequels due to the flop the first story made. One story I do hope goes to the big screen is and old British published story, six books in all, and that's called "Cloud Warrior". A somewhat mixed story of the future with a hook or link to the past.

'The Cabin In The Woods' . Best movie I've seen so far in 2012. The concept of the film is just too good. Very entertaining for me, loved every second of it.

Last movie I saw I downloaded online... won't be able to do that in a couple months when ISPs begin watching for illegal downloads.

I've gotten some from cable and have dubbed some rentals ( copy protection wasn't a problem and that is all I'll say on that ;) ). I was going through some VHS stuff and transferring them to DVD.

Just last night, i saw the "Pirate of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides". I never thought I would be nice and a bit funny. That was the first movie I saw for that series and I am looking right now the movies before that. I love Jack Sparrow.
