Spy Catcher Express slowed my computer down to the point that I rolled it back to a restore point previous to the install to get rid of it. Maybe I had too many features enabled. I dunno.

Spycatcher gave at least two and probably three false positives on my machine. It deleted GOM Player (the best there is) and even crippled our own product - Spot subtitling editor - for no apparent reason. It also stopped Vista dead in its tracks while starting.

[quote name='Chesterfield']I highly recommend Spy Catcher. I didn't like Windows Care much but Spy Catcher is a great find. Please try and use these programs yourself before coming to your own conclusion because you could miss out on something that can be really helpful. I did try Spycatcher and removed it within a day when it kiled two crucial aps for no apparent reason. It gives too many false positives (without actually identifying the case) to be useful.Martin

www.processlibrary.com is really useful - especially the process scanner. It scans your pc and tells you what's running, and gives you threat ratings for each

Why would you recommend or even have a link to an application that is so horrific that it turns most mahines into doorstops. The product I am referring to is SpyCatcher Express from Tenebril. Judging from the user reviews, I believe that being the reputable company that you are, would remove the download link this from your site. I've trusted the judgement of PC Workl for many years but cannot believe that you post (sponsor) links to such crapware.

I too am a VERY unhappy bunny after having installed SpyCatcher Express on two PCs and on BOTH it blew my Network settings away - and it has taken me three hours to get them back!Shame on you PC World - this is not the first time you have recommended something which, quite frankly, is not fit for purpose. As they say; there is nothing for nothing in this World? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :evil:

This is a quick heads-up alert.

For anyone thinking of downloading Mediamonkey, please be aware that the software, at least the free version, has a virus. A trojan horse virus. I've tried installing this program on two seperate occasions, and both times, the virus was there! It is obvious that they are unaware of this, or are unwilling to fix the problem.

So, "let the user beware" !!!

I've done computer repair for about 15 yrs.. software, hardware, & network repair. Several times I've used it on other customers Vista machines (All Versions). I've used "Whats Running" on my Vista desktop, & XP laptop now for three or four years. Its a great utility, & works wonderfully on both.

Is "What's Running" Vista Designed? It does not state this at the download site. Thank You, Ed Bye
