Alright I'm just gonna put it out there and hopefully it works out because I can't take much more of this.

Yeah, I subscribed to the FB page and it was bad, really bad...I get this sense the guys are putting on a front like everything's ok and clearly it's not.

It's evident that we we're versatile group over at GP. You already had a taste of that by the comments made towards Alfoo. Yeah we do have our moments when we let people have it but by the end of the day, we were a community and that video made by AoC is proof (I'M JUBEI!!!!!! You GODDAMN RIGHT :D) by including practically everyone, even Alfoo, who contributed to the site.

You know I can't help but notice and mention the fact that one of the mod's here was a former recruit so if anything you would know what it's like when a bunch of guys (and a few chicks ;)) get together. We're goofy but practical...you know? That sums it up so this is my plea to the staff here at PCWorld.

If we (GAMEPRO members) had our own section in the forums where we could regroup things would be alright. I was thinking a section where (with an enter at your own risk type deal) we we're allowed to be ourselves would be perfect.

Now I don't know what standards or regards people hold for each other here but I can assure you we never went without discipline over at GP. We weren't exactly a vulgar group by any means but again, we had fun so it's not as if we aren't capable of keeping things in order.

I mean this idea just sounds like the right thing to do and I'm willing to bet it would benefit all of us.

...I still can't believe AoC chose me as Jubei. Besides Mad Bull, Ninja Scroll was the ONLY anime I actually watched in total. Spot on man, spot on :)

Facebook's not our final home; Get's working on a site where we can pull the same stuff we did on GP. PC World is a nice community, but I don't think we're going to get our own spot on the boards here where we can do what we did on GP. PC World's got pretty stringent standards (not that that's a bad thing) and I don't know if they'd be willing to make us our own Wild West.

Either way is fine with me but these guys seemed like they were genuinely concerned so I thought I'd give it a shot.

We're probably not as hard is it may seem. :D I am a gamer and have spent time on the gaming sites. Yeah, they can get a bit rowdy for sure. I don't so much mind the argumentative stuff as long as it doesn't evolve into personal attacks ( Flaming ). That will not be tolerated. Also you have to keep in mind that we do have younger members as well, so you have to be a bit careful in what you post. Right now, there seems to be some problems with the servers and I think that may be the priority. As to whether or not some concessions will made to accomodate our newest members from GP, can't say, but it is not out of the realm of possibility. We have added stuff in the past at the request of members, such as the Tech Discussion group.

I know we're all probably being on our best behavior right now, but we did really have some crazy stuff at GP in terms of flame wars, messing with each other (usually good-natured but probably crossed the line on any other gaming site out there), etc.

We can add new forums, including a GamePro hangout if you all would like that. Unfortunately it can't really be a no-moderation/anything goes forum though. But we'd be happy to add a GamePro Hangout for you all to chat. It would be nice to keep the gaming talk in the games forum (and we can add more there too if needed) so everyone can participate.

Thanks,
Bill

It looks like he just set up a Gamepro section of the forum: http://forums.pcworl...amepro-hangout/

Ok, I've set it up for you now. You can find it in the "Hangout" section of the forums or here. I can change the description if there's something more fitting.

Thanks,
Bill

I really miss GamePro. The only site that even comes close to having the same kind of articles is IGN. Almost every other place is just news and reviews. I've been spending a lot of time over on Skyrim Nexus lately. They have a pretty good community over there. I tried signing up on fb but evidently my mom has already used my email to sign up there for some reason, so it won't let me join. At least I can keep in touch with some of the GP guys here. Thanks for creating a special area for us, bcappel.

Try using 'forgot password' button so you can take over the FB account.

I did that and it let me into her account but wouldn't let me make my own. I hope she doesn't mind me changing her password. lol

Can't you close the account? (then, you should be able to create your own) Anyway, I see no problem with you doing that or changing the password. She probably shouldn't have created that account on your email in the first place. :D

lol, That's a good idea. I'll look and see if I can find the option to close it. I should still probably make sure she doesn't want the account anymore though. She was using it to keep in touch with people she went to school with, but I don't think she's used it in a while so it should be ok. Thanks for the help!

Dang... http://www.facebook....gid=16929680703 They deactivate it, and then 2 weeks later if you don't use it actually cancel it. Another option - change the email on it to that of another email account (go create a new hotmail one or something), and then create a new facebook account with your email.
