Is it metal, or plastic? The non-Apple ultra books I've picked up so far have been floppy, twisty, as a result of being so thin. The MacBook Air is thin but feels really solid.

Huh? You do realize that it's not possible to beat the Air's price with similar hardware, right? Manufacturers are asking Intel for a subsidy to build these things. Good on them that they managed to match the price, I guarantee they aren't making much on it.

I'm going to put my money on Apple (Literally, I've been saving to buy one) releasing one in the Spring 2012. I think its becoming standard for the tech world to have Apple release devices first, and everyone else follow suit.

I'm glad that apple are allowing other manufacturers to build macbook airs. For the moment it is more expensive and the specs are underwhelming but, being able to purchase an identical device from another manufacturer will improve competition in the market place for consumers. They have finally gotten it right. Consumers don't want a laptop that looks like an LG laptop but the closest approximation of an Apple laptop as possible.

no, that isn't the point - the point is the Air's price tag *isnt* "premium". In fact,it's so good, it can't be beaten. not for a SSD ultra thin notebook with its feature set.

The tendency to get thinner and thinner isn’t driven by Apple, but by Moore’s Law. Please, stop giving Apple credit for everything.

A very good compliment to that woman who is almost in her mid-30's, she is who would model women who have gone to college and earned up to their PHD's and now very successful in their career.

The FBI most certainly don't have you on their pedo watch list since you fail to recognize what a barely legal Asian would look like.
