You can choose an Antivirus program by reading its reviews, features and user's feedback, will help you a lot. If you need to select one, you can go for Microsoft Security Essentials.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials which is a good security suite for computers. Try using it for complete protection and get rid off infections of viruses. If you operate internet on your computer install Internet Security Suite also.

In market, a lot of antivirus are available that you can choose according to operating system. At this time, Bitdefender is the best antivirus. It has effective security, simple usability, effective resource usage and an enticing price point. This antivirus software provides protection and peace of mind without taxing your PC performance or paycheck.

Ani-virus programs are like any other, each has to be evaluated in its working platform to see how it plays well with other programs. Before I load any program, I look closely at the processes running in Task Manager. This gives me a count of running processes. Then install the program, minus any tool bars, control panels and add ons. Then look to see how many processes are now running. Many have "call home" files that can slow a boot up and subsequent loading of web pages. MacAfee uses a "site Advisor" that will block unsafe sites but adds a lag in the page loading. Each flavor has its own little quirks and can be expensive. Many ISP's offer a suite of security programs for free and that may be the best option.
