Hi Everybody. Okay, I have seen alot of instances where viruses and spyware could have been defeated before any damage was done to a computer. We all, well most of us, have spyware, anti-virus, and malware detection software. One great feature in two of the big names, AVG Free Anti Spyware and AVG Free Anti Virus, offer something called shell extension scans.Basically, both of these applications will scan the files you download before you open it. Here is all you have to do. If you have either of these applications, open up My Computer and go to the folderwhere you downloaded your files. Right Click on the file and look for something similar to "Scan file with..." Each program will scan the file to make sure it is not infected. Once done, you get the same type of result window that you normally get after a full scan.I am sure other programs do this but since these are the ones that I use, I figured I would let everyone know.Download Safely
