I'm surprised you didn't mention DRM which will prevent most books from being converted to another format.

Any "how to's" about converting eBooks to a "text to speech" audio format for the new Nook color/tablet?

Actually, if you read the second & third sentences of the last paragraph, below "Step 5", you will see that they DID mention DRM, that Calibre can't convert DRM-encoded files, and that, in order to convert DRM-encoded files, one needs to use a separate application. What I found interesting was that the link, to download Calibre, downloads an old version (the link downloads v0.7.20, whereas the latest version is actually v0.8.32).

Have to make sure you upload the update before it will allow you to convert the books to your Kindle. Just an extra step since this link takes you to an older version of this software. After that worked perfectly!

Hrr...Calibre for real geek, who ready to waste her time for setup this crap. I use soft from epubkindle.com. Very nice and simple converter.

How literate of you!
And also so considerate of you, calling people geeks! And falling to mention that the utility that you endorsed costs 20 dollars, as opposed to the free program being discussed in this article, well... I'm sure that was just forgetfulness...
